Criminal History Disqualifiers

The Anne Arundel County (AACO) Fire Department shall conduct a Criminal Background Check on all volunteer members. A conviction or pending charges for certain crimes, attempted crimes, or criminal offenses may be a disqualifier for admission to the AACO Certified Volunteer Database.

Should the background check return with disqualifying criteria, the Arundel Volunteer Fire Department, at the discretion of the Chief (for Riding members) or the President (for Administrative members), reserves the right to terminate the offending member’s membership immediately.
